Object-oriented tools

Target group

Students of Computer Science and Business Informatics (at least 5. semester).

Intention

This course is focused on handling with tools and the supported methods.
CASE tools and special systems for generating e-commerce applications are emphazised.

Prerequisites

Knowledge in Programming techniques (algorithms and data structures) and Software Engineering.

Organization

This lecture is taught in 2 hours per week. It is part of the majors "Applied Computer Science/Software Technology" and "Object-oriented technologies" and includes working on smaller projects. Additionally, students can do further project work during 2 hours per week.

Contents

Object-oriented tools like Rational Rose, ObjectiF and Weblogic Personalization Server, and the methods required for their application.
In the lecture, pattern-oriented software construction and the use of UML specifications for generating e-commerce internet applications is discussed.

Completion

A qualified certification is assigned when the students have extensively worked on projects. In the other case a simple certification is made out.
